Summary

The Division of Pediatric Pulmonology is seeking a highly motivated Senior Coordinator, Patient Support Services to work as a patient support service coordinator in one of the country's top five USNWR Pediatric Pulmonology offices. This position will work with a team providing clinical support to a provider staff of over 30 physicians and advance practice providers. This position will also manage and coordinate patient referrals, homecare orders and provide administrative and clinical support for physicians while working with a team of administrative and clinical staff to support administrative needs within the office setting.

Job Duties

Clinical support

  • Processes DME/Title XIX paperwork for providers' review and signature.
  • Ensures each clinical lab charge has a diagnosis linked and charged.
  • Assists providers in scheduling video appointments.
  • Coordinates with hospital departments for patient tests or procedures.
  • Coordinates with clinical management to ensure staffing is appropriate before approving bonus clinic.

Administrative Support

  • Provides administrative support for physicians as needed.

Department Specific Responsibilities

  • Processes patient Title XIX and DME paperwork.
  • Manages EMR in-basket requests, such as scheduling errors, DME appointments, hospital follow up appointments, lab test and add on appointments.
  • Assists with physician referrals.
  • Schedules patient appointments in EPIC EMR for Division.
  • Maintains provider schedules and time off requests in QGenda.
  • Assists physicians with meeting planning, travel, expense reimbursement, clinical program development, and other administrative support.
  • Composes correspondence, create and format presentations for faculty.
  • Maintains calendar scheduling.
  • Answers and routes incoming calls for physicians and take appropriate action required to handle callers.
  • Ensures monthly call schedules are added to appropriate electronic hospital calendars/schedules.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Four years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Office experience in healthcare environment.
