Salary Range:  $43,065 - $50,665
FLSA Status:  Nonexempt
Work Schedule:  Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Summary

The Baylor Medicine Spine Center, Pituitary Center and Neurosurgery are seeking a highly motivated and outgoing Senior Coordinator, Patient Support Services who is comfortable utilizing technology to engage with patients and providers. The coordinator will be responsible for the management of all aspects of patient referrals, insurance verification issues and clinical faxes. The coordinator will support a team of 10+ physicians, 6 nurse practitioners and 1 registered nurse across three clinics. The coordinator will be joining a team of 12 medical assistants, 6 surgery coordinators and one radiologic technologist. 

 

This position will be located at the McNair Campus in the Texas Medical Center.

Job Duties

•    Schedules patient tests, procedures, and pre-operative clearance appointments.
•    Manages EPIC In-Basket, MyChart messages, and email correspondence.
•    Initiates and tracks prior authorizations, coordinates peer-to-peer reviews, and submits surgical appeals as needed.
•    Maintains physician calendars, including surgical case scheduling, meetings, and time-off requests.
•    Coordinates and facilitates collection of pre-payments for surgical procedures.
•    Performs other administrative and support duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Four years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience using Epic electronic medical record and in specialty practice preferred.
  • Strong attention to details and excellent communication skills.
