Summary
The Senior Coordinator, Business Operations will provide essential administrative and operational support to the Psychosocial Services and Community Outreach/Engagement programs at Texas Children's Cancer and Hematology Center and the future Kinder Children’s Cancer Center (coming in January 2026). This role is critical in managing complex workflows, including purchasing, travel coordination, and financial tracking, while also ensuring the timely and accurate processing of family financial assistance requests. This position will leverage advanced coordination skills to manage multi-disciplinary initiatives, external partnerships, and high-impact community engagement efforts with an emphasis on supporting the implementation of patient-and family-centered care.
Job Duties
- Coordinates day-to-day business and financial operations for Psychosocial Services and Community Outreach/Engagement programs extending to a team of 40 psychosocial staff members and the team will expand in January 2026 with the Kinder Children’s Cancer Center.
- Prioritizes and expedites family financial assistance requests to minimize delays in care-related support, coordinating closely with vendors and internal teams.
- Prepares and processes purchase orders, check requests, and corporate card transactions; engage directly with vendors to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment for patient families (> 2500 transactions/annually).
- Track and reconcile expenses (>2500 transactions/annually) across multiple philanthropic accounts (21) and vendor relationships; assist in preparing financial reports for donor stewardship and program evaluation.
- Manage domestic and international travel arrangements for patient families using Concur, ensuring compliance with institutional policies and budget guidelines.
- Composes and formats formal and informal correspondence, including presentations and communications for internal and external stakeholders (e.g. Houston Children’s Charity, The Evan Foundation).
- Maintains and updates calendars for program leaders; schedule interviews and meetings as needed.
- Assists with expense reimbursement submissions for faculty and staff.
- Monitors financial activity by reviewing expenditures for accuracy, necessity, and compliance with fund source guidelines to ensure the needs of patient families are met.
- Coordinates department meetings, events, retreats, and other functions. • Provide high-level administrative and operational support to faculty and program staff, adapting to evolving needs and priorities (e.g. Kinder Children’s Cancer Center)

Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- Four years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare, business, accounting or related programs.
- Microsoft Excel.
- Fluency in Spanish.
