Summary
The Senior Coordinator, Audio and Video Communications provides advanced technical support for audiovisual (AV) systems across Baylor College of Medicine, including the Health Sciences Building (HSP) and other BCM supported spaces. This role is responsible for the design, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of AV systems supporting classrooms, events, and specialized academic environments. Working under the direction of the Lead Coordinator, this position plays a key role in supporting complex instructional spaces, including simulation labs, anatomy environments, and technology-enhanced classrooms, while ensuring reliable day-to-day service delivery.
Job Duties
- Installs, configures, maintains, and troubleshoots AV systems and equipment across BCM facilities.
- Provides advanced technical support for classrooms, conference rooms, events, and instructional activities.
- Supports AV operations in complex environments, including simulation labs, anatomy spaces, and integrated AV classrooms.
- Assists with AV system design, implementation, and upgrades in collaboration with the Lead Coordinator.
- Provides consultation to faculty and departments on AV solutions and classroom technologies.
- Operates and support AV technologies including lecture capture, Teams, and media systems.
- Coordinates and support AV installations with vendors and internal teams.
- Monitors and fulfill AV service requests and reservations through ServiceNow or other systems.
- Assists in training faculty and staff on effective AV system use.
- Provides guidance and support to entry-level AV staff as needed.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- Four years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
• Some college coursework in Information Technology, Audiovisual Technology, Electronics, or a related field preferred
• Minimum of four (4) years of relevant audiovisual or technology experience
• Preferred certifications: AVIXA CTS or above; also any Extron, Crestron, AMX, Qsys, or Biamp certifications.
