The part-time Accounting Senior Coordinator will perform intermediate to complex financial and accounting duties for BCM Ventures (BCMV) including entering journal transactions, invoice distribution and processing, database management, account reconciliation, and additional transactional functions as related to the College's commercialization activities. This position will support the documentation of business financial transactions, which will help drive decision-making opportunities for BCMV leadership and support the functionality and operations of BCMV. 

This is a part-time position presently with the possibility of extending to a full-time position in the future.

Job Duties

•    Prepares journal entries for accounts, transactions and invoices and ensures that all account activity is recorded accurately and timely. 
•    Supports invoice distribution, processing and reconciliation for various commercial activities. 
•    Prepares supporting documentation for license income distributions, annual maintenance fees, invoicing generated from commercial activities and department budget transactions.
•    Ensures invoices are generated, sent and paid according to College policy. 
•    Reviews entries, verifies amounts and compares balances, and interprets trends or deviations from expected results. 
•    Maintains complete and accurate financial records, including supporting documentation for all transactions administered. 
•    Reviews transactions incurred/received to ensure compliance with GAAP. 
•    Responsible for updating, maintaining and providing timely statuses on financial records and accounts receivable. 
•    Ensures that all transactions are made in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and federal, state, and Baylor College of Medicine guidelines. 
•    Works with BCMV team members and leaders. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Four years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Possesses a basic understanding of accounting principles and techniques. 
    Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook)
  • SAP experience
