The Department of Medicine is seeking a Senior Business Operations Associate to join our administrative team in our section of General Internal Medicine with the Hospitalist program. This position provides HR and administrative support, and plays a vital role in our day-to-day operations. The position requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess great customer service skills, self-motivation, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and assist others.

Job Duties

  • Performs and oversees the daily operation of a department or unit, primarily in the areas of human resources, compliance and financial management.
  • Develops, manages, and controls budgets and financial data; establishes financial and operational systems to monitor, control, and verify expenditures and carry out financial analyses.
  • Develops staffing plans and productivity guidelines according to budget availability and department/unit needs.
  • Contributes to the development and implementation of successful strategies for revenue growth and expense control.
  • Manages the human resources activities for a unit/department, including hiring, terminations, salary, and disciplinary actions.
  • Actively collaborates with key department and College stakeholders to maximize effective business operations.
  • Implements policies and guidelines for unit/department activities.
  • Reviews and approves all statements of accounts, payroll, human resources, and invoice actions.
  • Works alongside Division Administrator to complete College and Department initiatives.
  • Trains and leads coordinators to manage faculty calendars, secure travel arraignments, submit reimbursements, schedule meetings, maintaining and updating department/sections rosters, distributing mail and screening calls, submit IT tickets or office work orders, provide coverage in coordinator’s absence and other office and support related duties as necessary.
  • Oversees or originates special projects or programs.
  • Oversees or originates pre-award and/or post-award related projects and tasks in support of department faculty members.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree. 
  • Four years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree and two years of experience may also be considered.
  • Five years of relevant experience.
  • Healthcare experience.
  • Prior supervisory experience.
