Work Schedule:  Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Summary

The Department of Surgery is offering a motivated and competent professional the opportunity to serve as Senior Business Operations Associate to support the department's human resources operations. The ideal candidate will focus on improvement initiatives, organizational culture, and day-to-day oversight of the department's human resources operations.

Job Duties

  • Cordinate the submission of new and replacement position requests for faculty and staff, ensuring accuracy and alignment with departmental staffing needs and budget constraints. Collaborate with department leadership and HR Business Partners to review justifications, obtain necessary approvals, and support the requisition process through recruitment. (25%)
  • Design and implement programs and strategies that boost job satisfaction, strengthen employee engagement, and improve workplace effectiveness. Lead key initiatives such as organizational changes, training programs, and performance improvement plans to drive measurable, positive results. (20%)
  • Partner closely with the Department HR Operations Coordinator and HR Manager to ensure HR activities are consistent with Baylor College of Medicine’s policies, guidelines, and best practices. Monitor for updates and implement necessary adjustments to maintain departmental compliance. (10%)
  • Compile and analyze HR data, metrics, and summaries into concise briefs and spreadsheets for review by department leadership. Provide support in identifying trends and making informed decisions based on workforce data. (10%)
  • Assist the HR Manager with the documentation, coordination, and administration of disciplinary actions. Ensure adherence to institutional policies, support corrective action plans, and maintain appropriate confidentiality and documentation throughout the process. (10%)
  • Lead and support initiatives aimed at enhancing employee morale, retention, and overall satisfaction. Implement engagement strategies that align with the departments and institution’s goals, including recognition programs, surveys, and feedback mechanisms. (10%)
  • In partnership with department leadership and the College HR Business Partner, evaluate employment-related reports and metrics to identify workforce trends and challenges. Develop and propose evidence-based solutions to support strategic workforce planning and organizational effectiveness. (10%)
  • Contribute to the department’s strategic planning efforts by providing HR guidance and insights. Assist in tracking progress toward departmental objectives and ensure HR functions are aligned with the overall mission and goals of the department. (5%) 
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree. 
  • Four years of relevant experience.
