Title: Senior Business Operations Associate - Clinical Finance and Operations
Summary
The Bobby R. Alford Department of Otolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery is seeking a Senior Business Operations Associate to help maximize business productivity. This position will play an important role in leading daily operations of the Hearing and Balance Center and will monitor and report medical services revenue. Along with departmental leadership, this position will lead process improvement projects and potential business growth initiatives.
Job Duties
- Assist with the daily operation of the department, primarily in the areas of process improvement and financial management.
- Develop, manage, and control budgets and financial data. Establish financial and operational systems to monitor, control, and verify expenditures and carry out financial analyses.
- Develop staffing plans and productivity guidelines according to budget availability and department/unit needs.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of successful strategies for revenue growth and expense control.
- Actively collaborate with key department and College stakeholders to maximize effective business operations.
- May oversee or originate pre-award and/or post-award related projects and tasks in support of department faculty members.
- Manage and execute departmental budgets, establishing workflows or processes to verify expenditures, as well as revenue.
- Organize and communicate monthly financial reports for administrator, practice manager, and physician leadership.
- Monitor productivity for physicians participating in Baylor Medicine compensation plan, communicating regularly with leadership regarding individual benchmarks.
- Assist with strategic business development as it relates to clinical operations. Specifically, formulate business plans, proformas, and concept acceptance proposals as required.
- Work with Medical Director and Practice Manager to maximize clinic efficiency.
- Create a regular internal mechanism to periodically review pricing for self-pay offerings such as cosmetic injections/procedures, sublingual allergy therapy, and hearing aids.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- Four years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA, MHA, or a Master's in a related field and two years of relevant experience may also be considered.
- Experience in an academic healthcare setting
- Project management experience
- Grants management experience
- Advanced skills in database management
