The SAP Reimplementation team at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) is looking for a Senior Business Applications Associate to be part of the team that supports and enhances the HR/Payroll business processes and systems. The Senior Business Applications Associate will focus on the support of Time Management and Payroll functions. This role requires the person to be able to utilize their strong SAP/SuccessFactors technical competencies and business expertise to design, configure and support BCM’s HR/Payroll systems and procedures. This position will engage directly with business stakeholders and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support and provide improved solutions.

This team at Baylor College of Medicine is focused on transformation projects which leverage SAP technologies to transform and simplify operational processes, providing better outcomes and information. As part of the team, this position will play a key role in maintaining and supporting SuccessFactors, SAP's HR software solution and its integration with SAP On-premise payroll. This position is located at O'Quinn Towers, in the Texas Medical Center and reports to Director, Business Applications.



Job Duties

  • Engage with Business stakeholders in Central Payroll, Human Resources and Benefits, to make system enhancements and provide day-to-day operational support
  • Analyze, troubleshoot and resolve application problems and data discrepancies of medium to complex nature with the ability to provide documentation and proposed resolution
  • Provide critical production support focusing on process areas such as SAP HCM US Payroll and EC Time Management in Successfactors Employee Central (SF EC)
  • Define and document business requirements and functional specifications from business users and subject matter experts
  • Design, develop and test new processes and systems and ensure system integrity with the College policies and keeping the systems up-to-date for regulatory compliance
  • Configure and maintain essential SAP US Payroll components such Payroll schema changes, Wagetype configurations, Integration with benefits, Integration with Finance/Accounting, Integration with SF EC Time module, Setting up new Tax areas, Setting up UI rates, BSI TUB uploads, YE Tax reporting updates and OSS note updates
  • Ensure employee master data and time data integrity by proactively monitoring system replications, interfaces and promptly remediate, co-ordinate or escalate any data, policy or compliance issues/discrepancies in a timely-manner
  • Monitor tickets/incidents and interact with users to resolve time and payroll related issues
  • Responsible for testing during releases and patch upgrades to ensure system and policy compliance and to mitigate impacts of external changes to the existing environment
  • Building and analyzing complex reports involving data sets from various applications like SF, SAP, 3rd party Time Management systems, Effort Reporting systems, ADP, SAP BW etc
  • Provide on-call support as needed during Payroll processing
  • Act as a liaison between department users, business stakeholders and IT
  • Utilize production support expertise to influence and support new designs, architectures and standards
  • Proactively identify and implement opportunities for automation of routine maintenance tasks, data gathering and resolution of common issues

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.  Four years of relevant experience may substitute for degree requirement. 
  • Four years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Four years of SAP HCM Functional experience supporting SAP US Payroll and Timekeeping & Scheduling systems
  • Two or more years of SuccessFactors EC, EC Time and/or EC Payroll experience
  • In-depth knowledge of HR functional areas and workflows
  • Subject-matter expertise in Payroll process, Time and Labor, Timekeeping and Scheduling, Absence Management, Compensation, Benefits, Effort Reporting etc
  • Experience working with 3rd party Time-tracking tools like REPLICON, QGENDA etc
  • Experience working with EPIUSE Variance Monitor, Query manager, SAP Query, Adhoc Query
  • Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to translate business needs to technical people and to communicate and simplify complex technical information for non-technical users
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, and develop actionable recommendations
  • Ability to balance the demands of projects, maintenance and support, customer expectations, and staff development in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Ability to coach, develop and motivate others
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills
  • SAP HCM or SuccessFactors Employee Central certifications is a plus
  • Prior experience working with Healthcare or HigherEd industry preferred
