Title: Senior Biostatistician
Summary
The Department of Pediatrics is seeking Senior Biostatisticians to support a wide range of clinical research studies being conducted across the Department. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in biostatistics and minimum of three years of relevant research experience in a variety of biostatistical techniques. The person in this position should have expertise in using SAS, R, Stata, MatLab, and/or other statistical software packages.
Job Duties
- Meets with faculty, trainees, and staff to understand the statistical needs for projects.
- Works with biostatistics faculty and other team members to develop data analysis plans for research projects.
- Uses statistical software to create programs for data management, manipulation, and standard/advanced analysis.
- Performs statistical analyses according to agreed upon data analysis plans for research projects.
- Provides and interprets reports of statistical methodology, results, and data interpretation.
- Contributes to writing and reviewing of protocols, manuscripts, and computational programs.
- Effectively interacts and presents methods and results to investigators.
- Assists and train faculty, trainees, and staff on the use of computer programs for data management/analysis.
- Able to effectively communicate and present statistical reports, findings, and methodologies to Investigators and Department leaders.
- Provides frequent timelines and project updates to Center Director, as requested.
- Develops reports to document activities and research results to Department administration.
- Works with data managers and information services specialists at Texas Children's Hospital to request health data for clinical research projects.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Statistics, Biostatistics or a related field.
- Three years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- SAS (or other statistical package) programmer certification.
