Summary

This role will function as a Statistician for the Division of Pediatric Critical Care. The selected candidate will play a role in ongoing research projects by working with division members, including physicians, biostatisticians, and learners.

Job Duties

  • Assist investigators in the Division with study design, statistical analyses, and methodological questions related to existing and future research projects.
  • Attend as a core member on the CCM Research Council to provide ad hoc consultation for research proposals. 
  • Lead in drafting, revising, and finalizing the statistical analysis plan for intramural and extramural grants.  Perform data analysis for preliminary data generation as needed for grants applications as well as complete data analysis on awarded grants.
  • Initiate and carry out independent research on methodological issues or other relevant areas of interest.
  • Assist with design of the database, creation of the appropriate codes for data elements, create and maintain the database dictionary; assist with the design, development and standardization of data collection tools, formats, and associated documentation; develop procedures for ongoing and final data review and quality assurance processes; provide input for procedural documents to optimize productivity, efficiency, and quality.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Statistics, Biostatistics or a related field.
  • Three years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in epidemiology, biostatistics, statistics or closely related field.
  • Three plus years related biostatistician in a medical and health related setting. 
  • Experienced user of Stata, SPSS, SAS.

Other

This role will devote effort to specific research grants as a collaborating statistician-investigator; both pre and post award. Provide statistical input on the design, analysis, and dissemination of the results of clinical trials and epidemiological studies including the application of appropriate statistical and methodological techniques. This role will also mentor and assist faculty, fellows, and trainees with their research projects, from design to analyses. Work with other Department faculty and staff to develop workshops and written materials to assist trainees and faculty trainees in learning about research methodology and implementation.
