Summary

 

The successful applicant will have experience in medical education, participation in educational programs in a medical school, participation in curriculum development, and in direct teaching of the foundational science topics, such as biochemistry, physiology, pharmacology, microbiology, immunology, anatomy, genetics, or neuroscience in both lecture, lab, and active learning settings. The faculty rank is open and depends on qualifications and experience.

 

Job Duties

 

  • Generate and distribute curriculum materials in a timely manner
  • Develop and deliver content to learners through active learning methodologies
  • Work collaboratively with faculty from other basic science/clinical science departments in curricular transformation
  • Work with Evaluation, Assessment and Medical Education Research team to develop and implement various assessment tools to assess medical students including but not limited to NBME style multiple-choice questions, narrative assessments
  • Participate in faculty development programs to enhance teaching and educational skills
  • Facilitate small group active learning sessions

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • Ph.D. in a foundational science discipline
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise in medical education including curriculum development and delivery in the basic sciences
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusiveness in leadership and possess the ability to work with a varied groups of educators and stakeholders
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills including the ability to lead and work on a team
  • Develop or promptly acquire a working knowledge of national, college, and department-specific curricular goals in each discipline receiving instruction
  • Commitment to meet and maintain faculty development requirements in clinical supervision, classroom instruction, and formative/summative evaluation
  • Committee assignments and other faculty duties as assigned
