The department of Orthopedic surgery is looking for a highly motivated person to oversee the revenue cycle process.  The ideal candidate should have experience/knowledge of AR follow up, speaking with the insurance company reps for claim status, accessing the payer website for claim information.  In addition, the candidate will need to be comfortable pulling and organizing data from EPIC related to the revenue cycle process.   Reporting, work que monitoring and the development of dashboard reports will be very essential to this job.


Reviews the appointment scheduling process for areas of improvement for office and surgical appointments.  Understands cross training and resource utilization.  


This position is located at the McNair Campus.

Job Duties

  • Monitors the services provided by the Physician Billing Service 
  • Monitors daily workflow to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Generates and analyzes revenue cycle reports and data.
  • Reviews and monitors daily work cues. 
  • Responds to inquiries about patient accounts from other departments. 
  • Assists the A/R follow up team with payment reimbursement
  • Follows up on outstanding accounts and makes proper notations (updating insurance information, using correct activity codes) in the Epic system. 
  • Analyzes data to improve operational efficiency , makes recommendations for process improvements and implements changes.  
  • May assist with the correction of hospital and outpatient clinic billing errors.
  • Prepare quarterly reports of activities to the Executive Leadership and reviews reports provided by the Physician Billing Service.    

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • EPIC and Cube experience.
  • Excel and Power Point.
  • Microsoft Outlook.
