We are seeking a highly motivated scientist to work two faculty members at the Jan and Dan Duncan NRI  on projects focused on Alzheimer's and other neurodegenerativ diseases to understand the biology of Tau and MeCP2.  The candidate  will receive training molecular biology, biochemistry, and single-cell techniques. Moreover, the candidate will be responsible for mice colony maintenance including genotyping, detailed behavioral tests, mouse tissue harvest.


Molecular biology and biochemistry work including DNA preparation, mammalian cell culture,  RT-PCR and Western blots, and general lab duties .  

Job Duties

Mouse genotyping, behavioral studies, mouse maintenance work demands frequent technical work. Having an additional technician will support these time-consuming duties. Technician will also help in general lab duties and preparing reagents.  Candidate should have a general understanding of single-cell techniques.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • One year of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • General understanding of single-cell techniques.
