Job Purpose

Be part of a highly interactive research team studying the molecular mechanisms of skeletal muscle diseases and developing therapeutic interventions. This position requires basic knowledge of biology, including molecular biology, and the skills to follow and optimize established procedures and record and analyze data.

Job Duties
  • Plans and conducts laboratory research experiments (SDS PAGE, western blotting, protein assays ELISA assays, etc.).
  • Manage mouse colonies (including genotyping).
  • Keep a carefully documented laboratory notebook.
  • Collects, compiles and analyzes data.
  • Conducts literature searches and summarizes information in an appropriate format for a particular study.
  • Selects, evaluates, learns and applies techniques used in this research field.
  • Orders laboratory supplies and equipment.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • One year of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Previously worked with experimental animals.
