A translational research lab in Baylor College of Medicine's Pediatrics Department-Division of Oncology, located in the Texas Children's Cancer Center, is seeking a senior, well-trained research technician willing to contribute to a vibrant and productive laboratory environment. 

Job Purpose

This individual will provide skilled technical assistance in support of research projects studying molecular pathways related to pediatric sarcomas.

Job Duties
  • Designs and conducts laboratory research experiments
  • Collects, compiles and analyses data; maintains records
  • Conducts literature searches and summarizes information as needed
  • Documents and interprets results of experiments and reports to principal investigators
  • Plans, executes, and reports complex experiments with appropriate supervision/guidance
  • Maintains lab equipment and environment
  • Works with animal models (e.g., mice)
  • Utilizes molecular biology techniques
  • Conducts tissue cultures
Minimum Qualifications
  • Required: Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • Required: One year of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferred: Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience in working with animal models is essential as well as experience in molecular biology and tissue culture techniques is preferred.
  • Applicant should be highly motivated, willing to help others, and have good organizational skills.
