Title: Research Technician III
Summary
We are looking for a technician with experience in laboratory research experiments that include tissue culture work and mouse colony management. Principal Investigator is seeking a self-motivated individual to work in a laboratory focused on the underlying genetics and molecular mechanisms of genetic neurological disorders. Currently there are several postdocs/ongoing projects that require quarterly progress reports/presenting results to the sponsoring foundation and thus any gap between personnel will compromise work.
Job Duties
- Prepares and conducts laboratory research experiments including: mouse management, mouse behavior, genotyping molecular analysis (including western blot) and cell culture experiments.
- Documents results of experiments.
- Assists in ordering laboratory supplies.
- Collects, compiles, and analyzes data.
- Conducts literature searches and summarizes information in an appropriate format for a particular study.
- Selects, evaluates and applies techniques used in routine research.
- Maintains lab stocks as well as help with lab maintenance (organizing, ordering, receiving, communicating lab needs, etc.).
- Assists with other lab duties as assigned and as project progresses.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
- One year of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in basic science or in a related field.
