Job Title:  Research Technician III
Division:  Center for Precision Environmental Health
Work Arrangement:  Onsite only
Location:  Houston, TX
Salary Range:  $39,150 - $46,059
FLSA Status:  Nonexempt
Work Schedule:  Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Summary

The Hodges Lab in the Center for Precision Environmental Health is looking for a talented individual to join the team. This position requires an individual who is self-motivated with existing research experience capable of independently preparing and organizing lab reagents, performing experiments, record keeping, and producing novel ideas.

Job Duties

  • Contributes to a vibrant, friendly, and energetic laboratory environment.
  • Interacts with others via effective verbal and written communication.
  • Insures that lab standards are being followed.
  • Conducts cell culture and molecular biology research experiments.
  • Evaluates and analyzes data.
  • Follows established protocols and complex procedures required for specific research projects.
  • Documents results of experiments and reports to principal investigators.
  • Track the inventory for reagents and ensure necessary supplies are stocked.
  • Orders laboratory supplies and equipment.
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • One year of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree basic science or in a related field.
  • 2-3 years of previous molecular biology laboratory experience.
