Job Purpose

Provides responsible technical assistance in support of the Population Sciences Biorepository by completing assignments requiring a basic knowledge of fundamental laboratory techniques and practices, including the processing and storage of blood, urine, and other specimens. Works under minimal supervision by a higher-level research staff member.

Working Hours: This position may work evenings (12PM to 8PM) and occasional Saturdays.

Job Responsibilities
  • Prepares and conducts laboratory research experiments.
  • Collects and enters data into Biorepository databases.
  • Documents processing and storage techniques/data.
  • Clean equipment and work area.
  • Assists in the preparation of laboratory reports.
  • May order laboratory supplies and equipment.
  • Transports biological specimens to and from laboratory.

 

Minimum Qualifications
Education:
  • Required: Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
