Summary

The Holder lab seeks to understand the genetic and neurologic basis of Neurodevelopmental and Neuropsychiatric disorders. The ideal candidate for this position will be excited to expand their knowledge and skills in basic science research. Duties will include DNA, protein and RNA isolation from various mouse tissues. Polymerase chain reaction, DNA agarose gel preparation and electrophoresis. Analysis and documentation of PCR results. Mouse husbandry and behavior studies. Candidate must be rigorous and meticulous.

Job Duties

• Prepares and conducts laboratory research experiments
• Collects, compiles and analyzes data
• Documents results of experiments
• Enters data into research database
• Selects, evaluates and applies techniques used in routine research
• Select mouse behavioral experiments
• Western blotting and QPCR
• Genotyping mice
• Cleans equipment and work area
• Performs other job related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
• No experience required

Preferred Qualifications

• Must have experience handling mice.
• General lab experience.
