Work Schedule:  Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Summary

We are a new laboratory studying the genetic and immunological causes of human disease, with a focus on immune deficiency and immune dysregulation. We are seeking a curious, energetic, and passionate junior research technician who can thrive in a fast-paced and evolving research environment. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, proactive in learning, embraces challenges with enthusiasm, and values teamwork.

Job Duties

  • Maintain processing of blood samples from healthy donors and patients with suspected genetic diseases to isolate peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs), plasma, genomic DNA, and other biospecimens.
  • Maintain genomic DNA extraction from saliva and buccal samples from patients.
  • Handle coordination of sample logistics, including delivery to DNA sequencing facilities, data transfer, and proper documentation.
  • Independently perform basic cell culture (expanding, aliquoting, documenting, labeling)
  • Assist with bacterial culture and plasmid extraction.
  • Assist with basic flow cytometry experiments.
  • Support day-to-day laboratory operations and contribute as a team player.
  • Assist with bacterial culture and plasmid extraction.
  • Order reagents for all lab members

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • No experience required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Biological bench research experience 
  • The ideal candidate is self-motivated, proactive in learning, embraces challenges with enthusiasm, and values teamwork.
  • We are particularly interested in candidates who are comfortable with technology, curious and eager to learn new techniques and technologies, and willing to be versatile as the needs of the laboratory evolve.
