Summary
The Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a Research Technician II to perform the routine elements of research work that requires the use of skills, technical and academic knowledge to follow established procedures and record results. The Research Technician II will be motivated, organized, and team-oriented who is comfortable working with mice to model malignancies.
Job Duties
- Prepares and conducts laboratory research experiments, produces reliable consistent data and analyzes data.
- Works with mice.
- Conducts literature searches related to experiment conduct and presents and records data in order to support research related decision making.
- Reports accurately reports and documents all results of experiments.
- Evaluates constant the success of experiments to improve lab related processes.
- Orders supplies as needed.
- Interfaces with clinical providers - nurses, doctors.
- Works with members of the clinical research team.
- Writes grant proposals and applies for early independent grants.
- Prepares and submits abstracts, manuscripts, and other materials for publication.
- Presents research findings at local, national, and international meetings
- Stays current with relevant scientific literature.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
- No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
