Summary
A full-time Research Technician II position for our multidisciplinary epilepsy research team. The technician is expected to perform basic lab tasks such as mouse colony management, assist with animal surgery, and data analysis. Additional work in electrophysiology, Imaging, histology (immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization), and mouse behavior studies may be included depending on the technician's interest, background, and skill. No prior research experience required, but seeking a technician highly motivated to learn new techniques and gain research background in neuroscience. Animal experiments and mouse colony management training for these and other technical skills are fully provided.
Job Duties
- Conducts mouse colony management, reports the status to PI.
- Performs basic lab tasks such as mouse colony management, assists with animal surgery, and data analysis.
- Checks daily on the condition of animals in the satellite animal facility.
- Collects, compiles, and analyzes data using statistical software and/or basic programming.
- Documents and reports results of experiments.
- Orders laboratory supplies and equipment.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
- No experience required.
