Dr. Yong Xu's lab at the Children's Nutrition Research Center is looking for help with mouse husbandry, to perform genotyping and mouse surgeries, and assist in biomedical experiments. The goal of Dr. Xu’s research is to identify the novel neural circuits, neurotransmitters and intra-neuronal signals that are critical for coordinated control of body weight, feeding behavior, and glucose balance.

Job Duties

  • Helps with mouse experiments that includes collecting body weight, food intake, body composition, glucose level, and assist in biomedical experiments.
  • Works together with other technical staff in the group to examine metabolic and neurobehavioral phenotypes of mice.
  • Assists in molecular and biochemical analyses of various tissues from mice or from cultured cell. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Two years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • One year of relevant experience.
