The individual in this position will perform basic and translational research in the area of HIV persistence and cure and COVID19.  It requires the use of techniques in molecular and cell biology, and immunology.  The person should possess technical and academic knowledge to follow established procedures, design experiments, develop new protocols, and record and analyze results.

Job Duties
  • Conducts laboratory experiments with human immunodeficiency virus and SARS-CoV-2 replicons.
  • Performs routine technical laboratory procedures in molecular, cell biology, and immunology including DNA cloning, PCR, ELISA, flow cytometry, and tissue culture.
  • Orders laboratory supplies and equipment.
  • Enters data into research database.
  • Cleans equipment and work area.
  • Maintains laboratory notebook and records.
  • Assists in the preparation of laboratory reports.
  • Operates laboratory equipment.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Education Required: Associate's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Two years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • Experience Required: One year of relevant experience.
  • Certification/Licenses/Registration: None Required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in biology, microbiology, or immunology.
  • One year of laboratory research experience and working knowledge of techniques fundamental to molecular and cell biology.
  • Experience in microbiology or immunology.
