Title: Research Technician I - Structural Biology
Summary
The Pillon Lab is seeking a technician to carry out routine laboratory procedures as directed. The lab's research program applies biochemistry, structural biology, molecular biology, and computational biology to understand the function and regulation of disease-linked RNA binding proteins.
Recent relevant publications from the principal investigator include:
-Cryo-EM Structures of the SARS-CoV-2 Endoribonuclease Nsp15. Nature Communications (2021)
-Cryo-EM Reveals Active Site Coordination Within a Multienzyme pre-rRNA Processing Complex. Nature Structural and Molecular Biology (2019)
-Grc3 programs the essential endoribonuclease Las1 for specific RNA cleavage. PNAS (2017)

Job Duties
- Conducts research experiments.
- Documents results and prepares them for presentation.
- Maintains lab equipment and supplies inventory.
- Assists with lab ordering and maintaining an up-to-date lab inventory
- Manages cryotanks and refrigerators.
- Manages transfers and activities in collaboration with other labs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Two years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
- One year of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree in physical or biological sciences and one years of experience in laboratory work.
- Experience with computational analysis.
- Experience with structural biology.
