Title: Research Technician I - Microbiome Brain Development
Summary
The Research Technician (RT) I position is open to work on a project exploring how the microbiome affects behavior and brain development. The technician will assist in performing behavior experiments and in analysis of different aspects of brain development. The RT I responsibilities will include maintenance of experimental animal, behavioral experiments, and immunohistochemical analysis.

Job Duties
- Assists with different learning and memory-related behavioral testing.
- Requires collection, analysis, and documentation of experimental results.
- Performs brain extraction, sectioning, and immunohistochemical analysis to investigate different aspects of brain development.
- Prepares and conducts laboratory research experiments.
- Collects, compiles, and analyzes data.
- Conducts literature searches and summarizes information in an appropriate format for studies.
- Documents results of experiments.
- Selects, evaluates, and applies techniques used in routine research.
- Orders laboratory supplies and equipment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Two years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
- One year of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's of Science or equivalent.
- Experience with handling mice and/or immunohistochemistry is a plus.
