Job Duties
- Designs and conducts independent and collaborative research projects in radiology that includes MRI, CT, ultrasound, or molecular imaging.
- Performs quantitative and qualitative analysis of imaging datasets using advanced computational tools and statistical methods.
- Develops and optimizes imaging protocols, algorithms, or AI/ML models for diagnostic or research applications.
- Assists with preparation of research manuscripts, abstracts, and grant proposals.
- Maintains accurate documentation of experimental procedures, data collection, and results.
- Participates in departmental meetings, seminars, and collaborative research discussions.
- Mentors graduate students, residents, or research assistants as needed.
- Conducts advanced research in radiology with a focus on medical imaging modalities (MRI, CT, PET, and ultrasound), including protocol development and optimization.
- Applies quantitative imaging techniques, image processing methods, and statistical analysis to support translational and clinical research initiatives.
- Develops and implements computational methods that includes machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms, for image analysis, disease characterization, and outcome prediction.
- Collaborates closely with radiologists, clinicians, and multidisciplinary research teams to integrate imaging data with clinical, genomic, and pathology datasets.
- Utilizes PACS systems, imaging software (e.g., MATLAB, Python), and institutional research databases for data management, analysis, and visualization.
- Supports clinical research activities that includes preparation of IRB protocols, patient data collection, and adherence to regulatory and compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA).
- Contributes to the preparation of manuscripts, abstracts, and grant applications, ensuring timely dissemination of research findings.
- Participates in interdisciplinary research projects across specialties such as oncology, neurology, and related fields.
- Ensures compliance with institutional, federal, and ethical research guidelines.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD).
- No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- MD and PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in Radiology, Biomedical Engineering, Medical Physics.
- Experience with medical imaging modalities (MRI, CT, PET, ultrasound).
- Proficiency in programming (e.g., Python, MATLAB, R) and image analysis techniques.
- Familiarity with machine learning or artificial intelligence in healthcare applications is preferred.
- Strong publication record and experience in scientific writing.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
