Title:  Research Nurse I

Summary

Full time research nurse interested in establishing or continuing a career in clinical research. Our clinical trials focus on treatments and or vaccines for combating infectious diseases. Our current focus is on COVID-19 trials.

Job Duties

  • Performs responsibilities in a manner that promotes quality and safe participant care and customer service.
  • Adheres to the scope of practices as defined by Texas Nurse Practice Act.
  • Recruits, screens, enrolls, and evaluates study participants for COVID and other focused research trials.
  • Collects study specimens and checks participant vital signs
  • Administers COVID and other vaccines/treatments for research trials.
  • Follows participant progress and advises investigators on status.
  • Collects study-related data and enters the data into an online database.
  • Maintains research charts and medical records, as applicable.
  • Performs quality assurance activities, as needed.
  • Collaborates with Clinical Research Associates for monitoring of study-related activities. 
  • Ensures that the clinical studies are conducted in accordance with FDA guidelines and other established regulations,  guidelines, and procedures and protocol requirements.
  • Educates study participants in significant aspects of the COVID-19 and other trials.
  • Maintains research clinic cleanliness and re-stocks supplies.
  • Extrapolates applicable medical data from EPIC, as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. 
  • No experience required.
  • Current license as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the State of Texas Board of Nursing.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
