Work Schedule:  Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Summary

The Holder lab is seeking a motivated candidate for a Research Coordinator position to join several exciting projects to investigate neurodevelopmental disorders. The candidate will recruit subjects to existing and newly created research protocols. Additionally, the candidate will gather pertinent clinical information from recruited subjects, independently interpret the data to input into research databases. The candidate will mentor a junior research coordinator to teach Good Clinical Practice Techniques and ensure collection of high quality data. Highly motivated candidates will have an opportunity to analyze data, write manuscripts and publish medical reports.

Job Duties

  • Perform informed consent of individuals for research protocols.
  • Collect biospecimens (saliva or blood drawn in central laboratories) and bring back to the lab.
  • Schedule participants for research studies.
  • Collect and maintain consent forms and other regulatory documents in a secure location.
  • Obtain and independently interpret clinical data to input into research databases.
  • Attend both local and online meetings with other research sites.
  • Coordinate research activities within a large research network.
  •  Mentor junior research coordinators.
  • Correspond with participants throughout studies via email, phone or mail.
  • Order supplies and equipments as needed.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures to ensure consistent protocol execution across the research team and participating network sites.
  • Develop and implement recruitment and retention strategies to meet study enrollment targets.
  • Coordinate study operations for a multi-site research network project, ensuring alignment with network protocols and sponsor expectations.
  • Train research staff on protocol procedures, study workflows, regulatory documentation, and patient enrollment processes.
  • Perform informed consent of individuals for research protocols.
  • Will recruit subjects both in person from multiple locations and via phone/email.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant research or clinical experience.
  • Experience in research coordination or clinical support roles (e.g., Medical Assistant).
  • Proficiency with PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Epic preferred; REDCap experience is a plus.
  • Comfortable working within a large, multidisciplinary research team (local and national collaboration).
  • Spanish bilingual skills preferred but not required.
  • Must be self motivated and detail-oriented.
