This position is located within IQuESt, the Center for Innovations in Quality, Effectiveness and Safety. We are the largest center for Health Services Research within the Southwest. We conduct high-quality scientific research that improves the health of patients across the nation, by helping to ensure the patient-centered delivery of scientific discoveries. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as research coordinator for a health services research project looking at the use of ACEI/ARBs (medications to treat blood pressure and kidney disease progression) in patients with chronic kidney disease. The role of the coordinator will be to oversee and carry-out daily study operations as specified in the research protocol. The ideal candidate requires ability to work well as part of a dynamic team, willingness to learn, handle responsibility, and to work independently, with limited supervision. Duties will include monitoring study activities and ensuring timelines are met, regulatory reporting and compliance, as well as writing IRB protocols, including amendments and renewals. The position is full-time, 5 days a week.

Job Duties

Study Administration

  • Arranges project related meetings and documents meeting minutes. 
  • Ensures study timelines are met.
  • Monitors study activities to ensure compliance with protocols and with all relevant local, federal, and state regulatory and institutional polices.
  • Establishes study files and maintains master lists of study participants and other required records of study materials.
  • Assists with the development of study protocols. 
  • Participates in audits conducted by study regulators or designated reviewers.

Study Reporting

  • Assists with preparation of monitoring and progress reports as required by regulations and the research protocol.
  • Gathers reference materials for publications, conference presentations and other scientific dissemination products.
  • Performs literature searches and reviews, and maintains reference management as needed.
  • Participates in the preparation of manuscripts, posters, and other scientific dissemination products as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • One year of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree in behavioral sciences, public health, organizational psychology, health administration, biomedical informatics, or related field with one year of research experience.
