Work Schedule:  Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Summary

The Department of Radiology at Baylor College of Medicine, in partnership with Texas Children’s Hospital, seeks a Research Coordinator II to manage day-to-day research protocol activities, including participant screening, enrollment, monitoring, data accuracy and overall coordination of study participant’s visit. Under the direction of a Research Manager and the vice-Chair for Research, this role coordinates clinical studies that involve radiological assessments, supports data management, and manages human subject recruitment and consent. The Research Coordinator II assists with reports, data collection, and manuscripts while working closely with sponsors and PI’s.

Job Duties

  • Participant Recruitment & Study Coordination – 15%
    • Interviews, screens, and recruit patients for study participation; educates participants on study procedures; schedules visits and follow-ups; maintains ongoing communication; ensures protocol adherence, proper documentation, and accurate data collection.

 

  • Liaison with Investigators, Radiologists, Technologists & Sponsors – 60%
    • Serves as primary contact between investigators and study sponsors; processes study documents including research protocols, imaging manuals and IRB protocols, coordinates patient encounters, and maintains study databases.

 

  • Radiology Data Management – 15%
    • Collects, enters, maintains, processes, and ships radiology study data according to protocol procedures. Curates radiology study database.

 

  • Test Result Collection & Submission – 5%
    • Collects and submits test results to the appropriate parties in a timely and accurate manner.

 

  • Administrative Support – 5%
    • Supports the Principal Investigators and Research Manager with administrative tasks, including tracking study supplies, materials, and other operational needs.
    • Performs other job duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • One year of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Candidates with experience in radiology methods or prior work as Radiology Technologists (Rad Techs) are strongly preferred.
  • Individuals with backgrounds as Medical Assistants or Nursing Assistants are also suitable for this role.
  • Familiarity with clinical terminology and exposure to medical procedures is highly desired.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Candidates with clinical research or nursing experience.
