Summary
This Research Coordinator II position supports an investigator in the Baylor College of Medicine Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science and The Menninger Clinic. The ideal candidate will be expected to manage their time and workload efficiently across multiple projects, including clinical trials of non-invasive brain stimulation for substance use disorders. The position is responsible for implementing day-to-day tasks of multiple research protocols involving participants with psychiatric disorders.
Candidates with experience in monitoring and following up on research-related study activities or brain stimulation application are encouraged to apply.
Job Duties
- Screens and recruits patients for research studies; compiles lists of potential research subjects in accordance with study objectives.
- Contacts potential subjects to introduce and explain study objectives and protocol and to arrange interviews, either in person or by telephone.
- Obtains informed consent from participants.
- Prepares research materials including forms and questionnaires for patients.
- Collects medical history from patients and medical records.
- Administers questionnaires and neuropsychiatric assessments.
- Administers non-invasive brain stimulation under the guidance of PI.
- Conducts face-to-face and/or telephone interviews with subjects, in accordance with interview protocol, data collection procedures and documentation standards.
- Maintains accurate patient records safeguarding the confidentiality of subjects.
- Collects neuroimaging data and performs data entry.
- Processes, analyzes, and publishes data and project outcomes.
- Reviews and edits data to ensure completeness and accuracy of information; follows up with subjects to resolve problems or clarify data collected.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
- One year of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, biomedical engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with AFNI, SPM, FSL, and Matlab.
