Title: Research Coordinator II - Pediatrics (On Site)
Summary
The Department of Pediatrics, Division of Adolescent Medicine and Sports Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children’s Hospital (TCH) is seeking a research coordinator to join our program. To coordinate day-to-day activities of research protocols and help collect data toward the development of grant proposals for the Division of Adolescent Medicine & Sports Medicine, to ensure accurate data collection, documentation, and management, and safety of research participants.
Job Duties
- 15% Helps prepare grant proposals.
- 15% Manages multiple databases; runs preliminary statistical analyses.
- 10% Interviews, screens, and recruits patients for studies, explains process and procedures to educate participants regarding research studies, consents participants following regulatory guidelines.
- 10% Collects patient information in a confidential manner; processes documents and enters information into a database or extracts from existing databases. May obtain vital signs or conduct other non-invasive patient-related procedures.
- 10% Schedules research participants for data collection, administers surveys, manages returned survey and audio-recorded interviews, including transcriptions.
- 7% Conducts literature searches and creates annotated bibliographies.
- 5% Conducts regular searches for funding opportunities and distributes to faculty, may extract key information first.
- 5% Coordinates patient/participant compensation.
- 5% Maintains records and regulatory documents and records for research studies.
- 5% Schedules research meetings.
- 5% Helps develop manuscripts, conference abstracts, and conference presentations.
- 3% May be required to obtain additional software training.
- 4% Performs other job duties as assigned.
- 1% Orders supplies and equipment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
- One year of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a related field.
- Experience recruiting participants for clinical research, conducting literature searches, and strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
