Summary
The Maternal-Fetal Medicine Units (MFMU) Network position is within the OB/GYN department, which serves two hospitals: Ben Taub Hospital and Texas Children’s Pavilion for Women. The prestigious MFMU Network is funded by the NIH and awarded to only 12 academic institutions in the United States. It conducts high-quality clinical research studies that shape and inform clinical practice.
Job Duties
- Coordinate day-to-day activities of research protocols at both hospitals, including screening, enrollment, intervention, and monitoring of research participants.
- Ensure accurate data and specimen collection, proper documentation, organization, and participant safety.
- Transport blood or biological specimens from the operating room or labor and delivery to designated labs within walking distance.
- Performs other job duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
- One year of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or Medical Degree.
- Two or more years of experience working in clinical trials with human subjects.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish).
- Ability to multi-task is critical to this role.
- Certified CCRP/CCRC preferred.
- Masters the skills to communicate with vulnerable population.
- Keeps calm in urgent situations.
- Maintain all required trainings and certifications up to date.
- Available for after-hours and weekend on-call duties as needed, depending on the specific study.
