The Psychology Department at Texas Children's Hospital is seeking a Research Coordinator I.  The Research Coordinator I will be involved with research projects funded by the National Cancer Institute examining neurocognitive outcomes following diagnosis and treatment for childhood leukemia. The Research Coordinator I will coordinate day to day activities of clinical research protocols and will ensure recruitment, accurate data collection, documentation, and management. The successful applicant will undergo training in administration of neurocognitive assessments.

Job Duties

  • Schedules study visits and determines eligibility.
  • Obtains informed consent.
  • Recruits research participants and administers participant incentives.
  • Directs patient activity.
  • Conducts testing procedures required by study protocols, which includes administering neuropsychological tests to patients, scoring neuropsychological tests, reporting test scores to the supervising psychologist, and assisting in interpreting the results.
  • Conducts medical chart abstractions.
  • Manages patient research files and prepares documentation necessary to obtain initial and continued approval for specific research protocols.
  • Develops and maintains databases in Microsoft Excel and statistical software packages (i.e., SPSS).
  • Completes all required training modules related to the Responsible Conduct of Research (e.g., CITI Program training).
  • Assigns activities to other study staff.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Three years of relevant experience.
