Summary

Baylor College of Medicine, in partnership with the Department of Neurosurgery at Texas Children’s Hospital, is seeking a Research Coordinator I.

 

This role is responsible for coordinating the daily activities of clinical research studies, including patient screening, enrollment, and the informed consent process, while ensuring compliance with study protocols and regulatory requirements.

 

The Research Coordinator I also performs and coordinates clinical procedures, manages data collection and reporting, and maintains accurate regulatory documentation to support the successful execution of clinical research studies.

 

The Research Coordinator I will also be responsible for conducting research experiments and collecting human neurophysiology recordings in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) at Texas Children's Hospital. Additional responsibilities include curating research data for transfer to collaborators at UT Austin and working closely with clinical staff in the EMU to support study activities and ensure successful research operations.

 

This is a part-time position, with hours scheduled within standard business hours.

Job Duties

  • Assist with coordination and implementation of research studies according to approved protocols. (40%)
  • Support participant recruitment for neuroscience studies, screening, enrollment, and scheduling. (25%) 
  • Communicate with research team members, clinical staff, and study participants (5%)
  • Collect, enter, and maintain research data accurately in study databases and source documents. (15%) 
  • Maintains inventory and orders research supplies and equipment. (10%) 
  • Perform general administrative and research-related duties as assigned. (5%)

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Three years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field. No experience required with preferred degree.
