Summary
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our Clinical Research team. Our department provides comprehensive OB/GYN services at both Texas Children's Pavilion for Women (TCH PFW) and Ben Taub General Hospital (BTGH).
This position will play a key role in the Industry sponsored clinical trials conducted at both TCH PFW and BTGH. The selected individual will oversee and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the research teams at both sites, ensuring that studies are conducted in compliance with institutional, federal, and sponsor regulations. Responsibilities include managing study logistics, supervising research staff, facilitating communication between investigators and clinical teams, maintaining regulatory documentation, and supporting data integrity and quality assurance.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, with experience in clinical research coordination and a passion for advancing women's health.
Job Duties
- Screen, recruit, interview, and randomize patients for participation in industry-sponsored clinical studies.
- Explain study processes and procedures to ensure participants are well-informed.
- Conduct follow-up with patients across different study groups.
- Monitor and promptly report potential adverse events.
- Collect relevant clinical information through interviews and the EPIC system for accurate entry into study databases.
- Collect, process, and transport blood and biological specimens according to study protocols while maintaining all associated documentation.
- Provide on-the-job training for phlebotomy to perform venipunctures at Texas Children’s Hospital Pavilion for Women (TCH PFW) and Ben Taub General Hospital (BTGH).
- Performs other job duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- Three years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field. No experience required with preferred degree.
- Spanish bilingual skills preferred.
- Phlebotomy experience is a plus, but not required.
- Communicates well with vulnerable population.
- Keeps calm in urgent situations.
- Manages high volume of patient interactions.
- Ability to multi-task is critical to this role.
- PIC and database experience.
- Medical background and terminology.
- Excellent communication skills.
