Job Title:  Research Coordinator I - Medicine - Infectious Disease

Salary Range:  $39,150 - $46,059
FLSA Status:  Nonexempt
Work Schedule:  Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as Research Coordinator I for multiple health services research and communication grants. Many of the projects are related to HIV prevention and care and/or health disparities. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of research methods commonly used in health services research (e.g., qualitative interviews and analysis, survey methods, etc.).

Job Duties

  • Organize project team meetings (e.g., draft agendas, schedule meetings, send calendar invites, reserve rooms, ensure computer setup works, and start meetings on time, etc.)
  • Submit and maintain IRB research protocols (e.g., protocols, renewals, amendments)
  • Carry out compliance-related tasks (e.g., maintain records and regulatory forms, perform internal audits of regulatory documents)
  • Advertise, screen, and recruit research participants. This includes meeting with community partners and organizations, distributing flyers, and drafting/sending emails about the study
  • Explain processes and procedures to educate participants regarding the research
  • Collect patient information; process documents and enter information into a computerized database or participant report form
  • Schedule research participants and/or community members for interviews, surveys, and other activities specific to the research protocol. This includes checking participant interest forms and lists of potential participants daily during the recruitment phase, with timely contact/follow-up to schedule research-related activities
  • Administer surveys online or in the field (e.g., clinics, neighborhoods, communities, public spaces, college campuses, etc.)
  • Conduct literature and/or social media reviews (e.g., health promotion ads, videos) and assist in manuscript and grant preparation (e.g., prepare tables, format references)
  • Order supplies and equipment
  • Perform other job duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Three years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field. No experience required with preferred degree.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Must be able to work independently and proactively
    • Must be able to meet project deadlines
    • Must be proactive in following up on action items
  • Must be able to work successfully as a member of an interdisciplinary team that includes staff, faculty, health care professionals, and national-level leaders
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in written and spoken English
