Summary

Dr. Shital Patel is seeking a qualified candidate for a research coordinator position for infectious diseases projects (implementation science and clinical research) within the section of Infectious Diseases at BCM. The candidate will support daily operations for clinical and implementation science research studies. Coordinates day to day activities of research protocols with include, recruiting screening, enrolling, and monitoring research participants. Ensures accurate data collection, documentation, organization and safety of study participants.  Candidate should be enthusiastic, self-motivated, and problem solver, with organizational and technological skills and effective at working independently on projects, while also collaborating and assisting the team in its collective goals.

 

The position requires a highly self-motivated individual, with outstanding organizational skills, the ability to effectively present results and conclusions to co-workers, collaborators and manager. Ability to work well under pressure and drive personal and team objectives.

 

This position is part-time and will be worked during standard business hours.

Job Duties

  • Supports daily operations for research studies to ensure the smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of research and data collection activities.
  • Interviews, screen and recruits, explain processes and procedures to educate participants for the research project.
  • Collects, enters, and tracks data.
  • Submits data, study documents, and/or reports to regulatory agencies (e.g. IRB, hospital-specific research credentialing agency).
  • Assists with completion of protocol-specific documents and progress reports.
  • Establishes research study files and prepares and oversees study-related documentation.
  • Assist with ordering of office/lab supply and maintenance of office/lab equipment.
  • May collect and ship samples from participants.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Three years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in health sciences or a related field. 
  • Experience using: Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and/or REDCap.
