Title: Research Assistant II - Single Cell Omics
Summary
We are looking for a Research Assistant to join our group who will play a critical role in performing high throughput sequencing and single cell genomics experiments as part of multiple NIH and CZI funded projects. The primary purpose of this position is to perform single cell omics profiling using the cutting edge technologies. The secondary purpose is to maintain laboratory equipment, samples and reagents. Successful applicants should be highly-motivated, well organized, and technical capable. In addition, as significant amount of on job training on new technologies will be provided, the applicant should demonstrate the ability to quickly learn new technologies.
Job Duties
- Prepare human and mouse samples for single cell experiments and spatial experiments.
- Perform single cell sequencing experiments and spatial experiments.
- Tissue sectioning: Microtome and Cryostat.
- Tissue Staining - H&E stain and IHC.
- PCR, qPCR, DNA, RNA isolation and Quality Control.
- Assemble and operate laboratory apparatus and equipment.
- Record and evaluate data in accordance with methods requested.
- Assists with the maintenance of laboratory equipment and the overall organization of the lab.
- Maintain records of samples received, data produced and their location.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or a related field.
- Three years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree with major course works in one of the basic sciences.
- Experienced in techniques related to DNA and RNA handling is highly desired.
- Previous experiences in next generation sequencing and/or single cell genomics and working with mice is a plus, but not essential.
