Job Purpose

The Hodges Lab in the Center for Precision Environmental Health is looking for a talented individual to join the team. This position requires an individual who is self-motivated with existing research experience capable of independently preparing and organizing lab reagents, performing experiments, record keeping, and ordering.

Job Duties

  • Plans, directs and conducts cell culture research experiments.
  • Serves as the de facto lab manager; placing orders and ensuring supply availability.
  • Assists with the production and purification of proteins and other biologics.
  • Evaluates and analyzes data.
  • Conduct literature searches and summarize information in an appropriate format for a particular study.
  • Write/edit compliance and regulatory documents used for animal care and clinical studies.
  • Documents results of experiments and reports to principal investigators.
  • May schedule and coordinate the activities of less experienced research staff.
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or a related field.
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Applicants should have familiarity with laboratory techniques, and previous professional experience related to working in a biological laboratory.
