Job Purpose

We are seeking a talented Research Assistant to join our team. Our lab (www.stpierrelab.com; twitter: @StPierreLab) develops and applies new protein-based fluorescent biosensors for imaging cellular activity, with a focus on sensors for brain activity. We are looking for a motivated, organized, and resourceful scientist with expertise in molecular cloning to accelerate our efforts to build and disseminate tools of broad utility. The ability to properly document results is critical for this position. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop cutting-edge molecular technologies, learn new skills, and be part of an enjoyable workplace.

Job Responsibilities
  • Use molecular biology techniques for assembling new expression vectors and to construct large mutagenesis libraries
  • Transfect plasmid libraries in mammalian cells and screen using our custom automated imaging platform
  • Disseminate our tools to collaborating laboratories and follow up to get feedback/data on our tools.
  • Help manage projects and the lab
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
  • Required: Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field.
Experience:
  • Required: Two years of relevant experience.
Certification/Licenses/
Registration:
  • None required.
Preferred Qualifications
Education:
  • Preferred: Master's degree in a related field.
