Job Title:  Research Assistant I

Salary Range:  $47,372 - $55,731
FLSA Status:  Nonexempt
Work Schedule:  Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Summary

This position is for grant funded projects primarily focused on studying the blood system in mice. The applicant must be familiar with biomedical research and have lab experience working with mouse models. The project will include maintaining mouse colonies, perform bone marrow transplantation, and perform basic molecular biology experiments with mouse tissue. The successful candidate will provide responsible and skilled technical assistance in support of a research project by completing assignments requiring a good knowledge of techniques and practices related to animal research.

Job Duties

  • Assists with general mouse experiments. 
  • Conducts animal studies such as tissue dissection and extraction.  
  • Prepares and conducts laboratory research experiments and tasks.
  • Collects, compiles, records, and analyzes research data.  
  • Records research data and organize in an interpretable manner. 
  • Assists in data analysis for publication. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or a related field.
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in basic science or a related field.
  • PhD degree in biomedical science.
  • Experience in mouse husbandry, animal experiments, and molecular biology such as flow cytometry are preferred.
