Summary
The Department of Medicine, Section of Gastroenterology & Hepatology, is looking to hire an competent and reliable Research Assistant I to manage day to day operations of projects for Dr. Othman's research projects. This position requires conducting research experiments and overseeing multiple ongoing projects. The candidate will focus on Gastroenterology research, presenting data to PI weekly. It is the responsibility of this candidate to support the PI for various studies, existing and initiating new, to continue to support the College's Research Mission.
Job Duties
- Conduct clinical and translational research in Gastroenterology and Hepatology.
- Recruit, consent, and enroll study participants.
- Collect, manage, and analyze clinical research data.
- Present study progress and findings to the PI
- Assist with grant writing and grant deliverables.
- Support IRB submissions and regulatory compliance activities.
- Maintain new research awards and study protocols.
- Conduct literature reviews and summarize findings for studies.
- Assist with manuscripts, abstracts, and publications.
- Select and implement appropriate research methodologies.
- Manage research databases and study documentation.
- Oversee laboratory equipment, space, and study resources.
- Coordinate daily research operations and study procedures.
- Provide guidance to junior research staff and trainees.
- Perform other research-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or a related field.
- Two years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in basic science or a related field.
- 3 Years of research experience.
