Summary
The Department of Medicine, Section of Gastroenterology & Hepatology, is looking to hire an competent and reliable Research Assistant I to manage day to day operations of projects for research projects. This position requires conducting research experiments and overseeing multiple ongoing projects. The candidate will focus on Gastroenterology research, presenting data to PI weekly. It is the responsibility of the Research Assistant to support the PI for various studies, existing and initiating new, to continue to support the College's Research Mission.
Job Duties
- Assists with Grant Writing, IRB submission.
- Conducts research experiments to help PI meet grant deliverables.
- Consents, collects and analyzes data for several ongoing clinical trials, presenting weekly to PI.
- Initiates new awards and protocols.
- Conducts literature searches and summarizes information in an appropriate format for a particular study, and assist in publication.
- Administrates and manages research procedures.
- Oversees lab equipment and lab space.
- Designs and conducts research experiments.
- Collects, compiles, and analyzes data.
- Documents and interprets results of experiments and reports to principal investigators.
- Develops and modifies computer programs.
- Selects and determines appropriate research procedures.
- Oversees the maintenance of lab equipment and environment.
- Assigns activities to less experienced research staff.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or a related field.
- Two years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a related field.
- 3 Years of research experience.
