Work Schedule:  Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Summary

The CNRC is seeking a highly motivated and capable professional to serve as a Research Administration Specialist. This position will play an essential role in managing the day-to-day business operations of a fast-paced, expanding research center by performing and implementing strategic financial, human resources, research administration and operations activities in cooperation with center leadership. This position requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and the ideal candidate will possess great customer service skills, self-motivation, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and assist others. The role also includes working directly with the Financial Manager to set and achieve center goals and initiatives.

 

The Research Administration Specialist will work closely with the Financial Manager and multiple faculty to help implement functional operations in the areas of financial and/or grant related activities and programs.

Job Duties

  • Process journal vouchers, pending accounts requests, shopping carts, and helps to process other daily operational requests  to maximize business productivity.
  • Assists Financial Manager with annual budget, forecasting revenue and expenses for clinical, education, and research missions.
  • Collaborate with Faculty to construct their budgets (operational and research).
  • Reviews and analyzes reports and make independent decisions using a variety of financial data reports.
  • Analyze financial reports for assigned cost centers/projects by running reports from SAP inclusive of personnel, supplies, services, and other expenses while ensuring the PI remains within budget and in full compliance per funder/sponsor guidelines.
  • Monitors budgets and changes to labor distribution to assure accurate cost and effort reporting is in place for faculty and staff.
  • May oversee center support positions to ensure accuracy and compliance in day-to-day transactions.
  • Plans, executes, and manages a variety of special projects to ensure that implementation and prescribed activities are carried out in accordance with specified strategic objectives. 
  • Manages and executes the internal and external center communication projects in conjunction with Faculty and other stakeholders. 
  • Develops, recommends, and implements standard operating procedures and process improvement projects and actively collaborates with Financial Manager to maximize effective business operations and productivity.
  • Develops and prepares reports for grants and other funds using PowerBI, SAP, and/or other systems.
  • Performs difficult and complex administrative tasks and other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Four years of relevant experience.
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree. No experience required with Bachelor’s degree or Certified Research Administrator certification through the Research Administrators Certification Council (RACC).
