Summary

The Dan L Duncan Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (ICTR) provides a learning environment at Baylor College of Medicine that integrates data from diverse domains including the electronic medical record, geospatial and social information, and next generation technologies to support research, development, and implementation of new approaches to patient care. The ICTR is currently seeking a Research Administration Associate to assist leadership with process improvement, compliance, and financial reporting.

 

This role is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.

Employees with CRA certification are eligible for certification pay.

Job Duties

  • Prepare grant and subcontract submissions internally (BRAIN) and externally (Sponsor sites).
  • Prepare and/or review budget/budget justifications, assist with no cost extensions, carryover, rebudgeting requests, changes in scope, and other award changes.
  • Review announcements for special conditions/instructions to ensure compliance with all sponsor guidelines.
  • Communicate with faculty on deadlines and reporting requirements.
  • Prepare and update other support documents and biosketches.
  • Review, negotiate, and monitor the execution of material transfer agreements, data use agreements, and confidentiality agreements.
  • Review and approve grant applications, certifying summary data in the College's electronic Biomedical Research and Assurance Information Network (BRAIN) on behalf of the department.
  • May contribute to the preparation of budgets for grant quarterly/biannual/annual reporting purposes.
  • Prepare financial reports for review by research support leadership to ensure that all expenditures are allocable and allowable.
  • Responsible for pre-reviewing effort reports and maintaining accurate payroll distributions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.  Certified Research Administrator certification through the Research Administrators Certification Council (RACC) may substitute for the degree requirement.
  • Two years of relevant experience.
