Summary

The Research Administration Associate will work within IQuESt, the Center for Innovations in Quality, Effectiveness and Safety. We are the largest center for Health Services Research within the Southwest. We conduct high-quality scientific research that improves the health of patients across the nation, by helping to ensure the patient-centered delivery of scientific discoveries. We are seeking someone to oversee the administrative and financial operations of a research study or clinical trial.  This role offices at the McGovern Campus which offers free employee parking.  The Research Administration Associate supports Baylor College of Medicine and Michael E. Debakey VA Medical Center.

This is a hybrid work role with some onsite work required each week.

Job Duties

  • Engage in pre- and/or post- award grant management activities
  • Provide financial management and accountability, including developing budgets, monitoring budget and grant expenditures, reconciling accounts, financial reporting, and ensuring federal and institutional accounting standards are met
  • Responsible for establishing and implementing quality assurance and quality control measures/oversight and ensuring adherence to College policies and regulatory standards
  • Recruits, trains, and supervises research administrative staff

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.  Certified Research Administrator certification through the Research Administrators Certification Council (RACC) may substitute for the degree requirement.
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Research experience in a Healthcare Institutional setting
  • Experience with pre- and post- grant award management
  • Great organizational and communication skills needed
  • Computer/spreadsheet savvy
