Summary

The Department of Medicine, Section of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas is seeking a professionally confident Research Administrative Associate to support the pre-award and/or post-award activities/programs, which includes process improvement initiatives, adhering to compliance standards, budget preparation and financial reporting.

Job Duties

Pre-Award: 40%

  • Administers all Pre and Post Award Grant related activities including, but not limited to budget preparations, application and progress report creations/reviews/submissions.
  •  Assists investigators in preparing and submitting federal, state and industry sponsored grants, contracts and subcontract internally and externally.
  • Prepares required documentation for grant submission including budgets, budget justification, other support, statement of work,
  • Communicates time lines to investigator and ensures applications and progress reports are submitted accordingly to BCM’s, state, federal and industry guidelines/policies.
  • Liaison for the faculty; develops collaborative relationship with Sponsored Program, Grants & Contracts, as well as Sub Contract recipients/providers.
  • Provide notification to investigators on various funding opportunities.
  • Submits grant applications internally through BCM’s electronic tracking system.

Post-Award: 30%

  • Organize/attend regular meetings with the section administrator and faculty regarding the status of awards and projected outcomes.
  • Submits invoices to sponsors when applicable. • Validates incoming sub-award invoices with investigators when applicable.
  • Works with section administrator, Grants & Contracts, and Accounting to ensure revenue is routed to appropriate accounts.
  • Works with investigators to confirm sourcing of research staff to appropriate accounts monthly.
  • Prepares financial reports to track research mission financial for monthly/quarterly/annual review upon request.
  • Tracks grant expenses and ensures appropriate use of funds.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education Required: Bachelor's degree.  Certified Research Administrator certification through the Research Administrators Certification Council (RACC) may substitute for the degree requirement.
  • Experience Required: Two years of relevant experience.
  • Certification/Licenses/Registration: None Required.
